At the grand Coolie trailer and audio launch event in Chennai, fans witnessed a heartwarming moment between Bollywood star Aamir Khan and South legend Rajinikanth. As a sign of deep respect, Aamir bowed down and touched Rajinikanth’s feet before embracing him in a warm hug.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is all set to hit theatres on August 14, 2025, in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
Though Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan play rivals in this action-packed gangster flick, their real-life camaraderie is built on mutual admiration and love. During the Coolie trailer and audio release event, both stars shared the stage with other cast members like Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, and Upendra.
In one of the viral clips circulating on social media platform X, Aamir is seen humbly touching Rajinikanth’s feet before greeting him with a hug. While Thalaiva kept it casual, Aamir was spotted in his character Dahaa’s look from the film.
In an interview with Zoom, Aamir Khan opened up about his experience working on Coolie. “I’m doing a cameo in Coolie. It was a no-brainer for me. Lokesh said it’s a Rajini sir film, and I said, I’m in! I didn’t even ask for a script,” he shared.
Aamir also revealed that he’s collaborating with director Lokesh Kanagaraj once again. “Yes, we’re doing a full-fledged film together after Kaithi 2 wraps up. We’ll begin in the second half of next year,” he added.
The Coolie trailer teases a gripping gangster drama with an ensemble cast featuring Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Monisha Blessy, and more. The film is slated for a massive August 14, 2025 release and will be available in four major languages.
